Why Vote For Steve?

SOLIERI - SUMMARY of the “COVERAGE” of the “CONTRACT FOR AMERICA”
Steven is a financial professional with the ability to balance budgets as he has done for his own businesses, employers, clients, and other organizations. The ability of any organization to live within its means is sorely needed in Congress. Steven is a “subject matter expert” (SME) or has real and “substantial education, experience and knowledge” (SEEK) in ten (10) of the twenty-two (22) items identified in the “Contract For America” by The Tea Party Patriots (www.TheContract.org see table below) requiring significant knowledge of finance, accounting, audit, tax and other skills possessed by an experienced financial professional. Steven has earned and maintains his various certifications (CPA, CMA, CIA, CISA, CITP, and CFF) in proof of these abilities.
Steven also possesses real and “substantial education, experience and knowledge” (SEEK) in three (3) of the areas labeled “legal” by virtue of his experience and the business law components of certifications. The law is firmly entrenched and emanates from the Constitution sources. This respect for the Constitution goes all the way back to Steven’s college days when most Business and Accounting students were taking out-of-College electives like the history of Rock and Roll; Steven took his classes in Government (Congress and the Presidency), and the Constitutional History of the United States. Steven also cites books that have bolstered the knowledge of the Constitution such as Men-In-Black and Liberty & Tyranny by Mark R. Levin.
Other areas of the Tea Party Patriots “Contract For America” involve education and technology issues. Steven possesses a Ph.D. from Binghamton University (S.U.N.Y. at Binghamton) and is a Professor at Queens College. He has seen first hand what works in the educational system and what does not. He has done battle with Unions over ridiculous rules designed to protect poor and failing teachers and believes significant reform of the educational process and Union power and contracts is necessary. As a Conservative Steven believes in “School Choice” for everyone and believes in empowering parents to remove their children from failing schools. Steven remembers his father’s struggling to meet the tuition at parochial schools while the money he spent on property taxes for schools was wasted by bureaucrat on protecting poor teachers. This sort of double taxation of parents who want better things for their children cannot continue in America.
On the technology front Steven has always been a pioneer in applying new technology and working with it in his professions. Steven has a financial and accounting Certification that is focused on technology and has several businesses using and leveraging technology.
Lastly, the seven remaining items of the “Contract For America” by the Tea Party Patriots are perfectly aligned with Steve’s “Conservative Stands on Issues”. These stands are as follows:
- NO to CAP and TRADE
- REAL GOVERNMENT TRANSPARENCY and ACCOUNTABILITY to the PEOPLE
- TERM LIMITS for ALL GOVERNMENT OFFICES
- A COMPREHENSIVE ENERYGY POLICY for ALL FORMS of ENERGY
NO LIMITATIONS of POLITICAL SPEECH for the PRESS, RADIO, and TELEVISION
- EXPOSING LOBBYIST CONNECTIONS to POLITICIANS THROUGH TRANSPARENCY
- SUNSETTING and REFORM of ALL GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES FROM THE “CONTRACT FROM AMERICA”
The Tea Party Patriots have worked on establishing a “Contract For America”. The Contract is not meant to be exhaustive but illustrates what issues are on the minds and of major concern to the myriad of Tea Party Groups around the United States. According to the site www.thecontract.org:
Tea Party Patriots, the principal organizer of the Contract from America project and an umbrella group of hundreds of tea parties around the country, promoted and helped launch the Contract from America site on September 1, 2009. But while one activist came up with the idea of a document generated by the people, this process would not have been successful without the creativity of hundreds of thousands of freedom-loving Americans, who from September 2009 to January 2010, submitted and debated thousands of ideas on the Contract from America website. Thousands of grassroots leaders nationwide also did their part by filling out a series of surveys that helped narrow the boldest and most viable ideas down to 22. Now is your chance to make a real difference and vote for the top 10 ideas out of the 22 finalists that you believe should be in the final Contract from America, to be unveiled at tea parties around the country on April 15, 2010. Note 1: Since Mr. Carney has a public voting record his votes have been summarized above. His campaign is welcome to challenge any of the analyses above.
Note 2: Solieri’s data has been entered based on his resume and discussions. The other Republican candidates are welcome to update their data for each item.
While the Tea Party Patriots list is very inclusive it does, probably purposefully, leaves out a few critical issues that the Tea Party Patriots have decided not to address at this time; namely National Defense, the Treatment of Terrorists, Securing the Borders, Illegal Aliens, Foreign Policy, U.S. Sovereignty, and other agenda items. Steven deals with these item in other areas of this website.
